Château Pudris

Thierry and Virginie Thibault took over the Domaine in 2022. With Thierry's 20 years of experience as a winegrower in Champagne, they have cultivated an organic vineyard on a limestone slab overlooking the Garonne plain near Réole, South-Gironde. Starting fresh, as no wine had been produced there since 2010, they've embraced the opportunity to create wines that reflect their vision.

While preserving the Bordeaux essence with two Bordeaux cuvées, their production also focuses on distinctive Vin de France wines. These include single-varietals like Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon, as well as unique offerings such as Claret de Merlot, Pet-Nat, and a blend of 11 grape varieties. Their approach features eco-grazing, grass cover, hand harvesting in boxes, and minimal interventionist vinification in ovoid vats, with meticulous presentation. The 2022 vintage perfectly embodies the new Bordeaux wave: original, unconventional, yet deeply rooted in its history and terroir.

The grape varieties are traditional, and the terroir is exceptional, but the approach is innovative. To highlight the fruity and delightful character of this inaugural Château Pudris red, Thierry and Virginie opted for gentle vinification and aging in concrete vats.

In 2022, Cabernet Sauvignon was unveiled during vinification. Part of it was blended for Château Pudris red, while the rest, vinified and aged in ovoid vats, showcases the full power and elegance of this grape variety. 1,300 bottles produced.
