Domaine Modot-Guyon

Domaine Modot-Guyon, a historic family estate in Chambolle-Musigny, has been revived after nearly 20 years. Originally known as Modot Père & Fils, the domaine stopped producing wine in 2004 due to a lack of a successor, and the vineyards were leased out. Throughout this time, the vineyards were carefully preserved.

Now, sixth-generation family member Adrien Guyon has returned after training at top Burgundy domaines, bringing fresh energy and new investment to the estate. He plans to reclaim iconic plots such as Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Charmes, which had previously been sold as fruit. With its second vintage in 2023, Domaine Modot-Guyon offers elegant, terroir-driven wines that mark an exciting new chapter for one of Burgundy’s most celebrated villages.

From three exceptional lieux-dits—Les Maladières, Les Mal Carrées, and Le Clos de l’Orme—this cuvée showcases the fuller, denser side of Chambolle. Located on the eastern, downhill aspect of the village, these sites share the same trajectory as 1er Crus like Les Charmes and Les Plantes.

Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées

A standout among upper-slope Chambolle sites, Les Fuées benefits from full afternoon sunshine, producing wines with depth, tension, and extraordinary minerality. Adrian’s 2023 Les Fuées captures everything we love about this vineyard: dark fruit tones, expansive palate presence, and a beam of salty limestone minerality.

Chambolle-Musigny Les Creux-Baissants

A single-parcel wine from a cooler, north-facing site nestled in a natural hollow against the forest. The name, translating to “the lowering hollow,” reflects the vineyard’s unique topography—some five feet below the road. This cuvée is all about delicacy and finesse, with airy red fruits, limestone salinity, and a lacy, elegant texture.
