Tarra di Sognu by Yves Canarelli
Yves Canarelli asserts himself as the great winegrower of southern Corsica. Passionate about ampelography, and benefiting from the advice of oenologist Antoine Pouponneau, he enlarged his semi-underground cellar and his vineyard, worked biodynamically, in which he was among the first to replant old grape varieties (biancu gentile, carcaghjolu neru and minustellu).
Associated with Patrick Fioramonti, director and sommelier of the Hotel Cala Rossa, Yves Canarelli replanted from 2010 the first Clos de Bonifacio on a plateau overlooking the city, rich in a rare limestone on the island called Tarra di Sognu, the wines (one white and one red) which come from it reveal an immense terroir and increase in power as the vines age.

Tarra di Sognu Blanc, Bonifacio
A new great Corsican reference on the new limestone terroir overlooking Bonifacio. Exceptional purityand finesse, notes of white flowers, aniseed and bergamot, which bring out all the minerality of this new great terroir. Many indigenous grape varieties are used in this cuvée: Rimenese, Biancu Gentile, Carcaghjolu Biancu, Genovese and Vermentinu.
