François Tessonneau (Domaine de Faverand)

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Mont Ventoux in Mazan, Domaine de Faverand is emerging as one of the Rhône Valley’s most exciting new names. Recently revitalized by a former associate of the legendary Domaine des Tours and Château Rayas, this tiny five-hectare estate is quickly gaining attention for its pure, vibrant, and remarkably elegant wines. Planted on sandy, clay-limestone soils that lend finesse and lift to every cuvée, the domaine is deeply committed to sustainable and regenerative viticulture. Part of the vineyard has been converted to agroforestry, enhancing biodiversity and nurturing living soils that will sustain the estate for generations to come. With only its second vintage now released, it has already established a clear identity. Fermentation is spontaneous, using only native yeasts. No additives or oenological products are employed, and extractions are carried out gently through light pump-overs. This restrained, hands-off approach results in wines of precision and balance—concentrated yet graceful, and always a transparent reflection of their grape and place of origin.
