François & Vincent Durieu (Domaine Durieu)
Paul Durieu originates from the Avril family on his mother’s side — one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s historic and noble lineages whose members were among the first consuls before the French Revolution. In 1976, after leaving the cooperative, Paul founded Domaine Durieu, building his own cellar and managing a handful of inherited vineyards alongside new Grenache plantings. His sons Vincent and François joined the estate in 2004, bringing new structure and energy — Vincent focusing on winemaking, and François on marketing and development. This marked a major transformation, expanding bottling at the estate and elevating the domaine’s reputation. In 2008, the family inherited an additional Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards from their great-aunt Geneviève Avril, alongside vineyards in Plan de Dieu, Côtes du Rhône, and Ventoux.
