Cordero Mario

Cordero Mario signifies the resurgence of a prominent Barolo winemaking lineage, led by Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina Cordero—descendants of Luciana Vietti and Alfredo Currado. Hailing from the esteemed Vietti Winery, where Mario Cordero played a key role in modern Barolo production, the siblings now carry the legacy forward.

Their vineyards span 11 hectares, currently transitioning to organic practices, and include a rare Nebbiolo clone over 60 years old. These vines are located in the prestigious Valentino MGA (Castiglione Falletto) and Bricco San Pietro (Monforte d'Alba)—sites known for their distinct microclimate and long viticultural heritage dating back to the 1800s. With a philosophy of minimal intervention, the Cordero siblings aim to let the land speak. They practice manual harvesting, whole-cluster fermentation for added complexity, and age their wines in French tonneaux, achieving a refined balance of acidity and structure. Sustainability is central to their mission, as they work toward full organic certification to preserve the land for future generations.

Barolo Valentino DOCG

From a vineyard in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, MGA 'Valentino', located on the West-facing slope overlooking La Morra. The soil is characterized by sandy Sant'Agata Fossili marls, and it is located at an altitude of approximately 300m. This vineyard was planted in 1969, facing West, and trained in the Guyot system. The grapes are destemmed and only partially pressed. The wine is then aged for 24 months in French Tonneaux.

Bèch, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC

Vineyards located in Castiglione Falletto and Monforte d'Alba. The grapes are destemmed but not pressed to keep the berry intact, and whole bunch vinification is carried out on approximately 5% of the mass. The wine is aged for 12 months in French tonneaux.
