Bordeaux

Bordeaux, in southwestern France, is one of the world’s most iconic wine regions, with winemaking roots dating back to Roman times. Its reputation grew in the 12th century when trade with England flourished under Eleanor of Aquitaine.

The Bordeaux region spans over 100,000 hectares and is divided into key subregions: the Left Bank (Médoc, Graves), the Right Bank (Saint-Émilion, Pomerol), and Entre-Deux-Mers. It is known for its red blends of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, as well as its dry and sweet white wines like Sauternes.
